Mechanical Fitter
Salary: £34,565 per annum + attractive OTE
On-call allowance plus enhanced callout rate + terms
Hours: 7am-3pm Monday to Friday
Overtime rate: 2x rate on weekends (10pm Friday to 6am Monday)
1.5x rate midweek
Please note: Overtime is optional.

About the role
We're seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to be a crucial member of our dynamic & experienced Engineering team at our port in Leith. You will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth running and maintenance of our port facilities and so we are looking for an experienced individual who is keen to gain further exposure in a fast-paced environment.
This is a great opportunity to work with a wide range of machinery and plant equipment across the Port, where no two days will be the same.

Some of your responsibilities will include:
All maintenance, repair and fault finding of a variety of machinery and plant equipment within the Port; including forklift trucks, ship to shore cranes, industrial plant, lock date infrastructure and commercial vehicles
Developing an in depth working knowledge of plan equipment and associated drawings in order to minimise downtime when repairs take place
Reporting any damage or misuse to Supervisory staff and liaise with operational staff to inform of timescales for repairs
What are we looking for?
You must be a time served qualified Mechanical Fitter or equivalent role/qualifications
Previous experience of working within an industrialised environment
Knowledge of diesel engines and hydraulics would be advantageous
You should be comfortable working at height / outdoors
You must hold a full driving licence, valid in the UK
