Job Title:

Location: Port of Tilbury

Compensation: Salary - £26,929 + paid overtime

Shifts: Mon-Fri weekly shift rotation 0600-1400 / 1400-2200

About the role

We are looking for a motivated individual to join our team at Tilbury2, where you’ll be responsible for receiving, controlling, and dispatching cargo to our valued customers. You’ll work with advanced stock control systems including IPOS5, Swim, and Planning tools to ensure cargo is accurately tracked and efficiently processed through the terminal.

Key responsibilities:

  • Communicate with external customers to provide a satisfactory service to the customer and maintain contractual arrangements

  • Utilise computer systems including VBS/ IPOS5  for the handling of unitised Cargo and 3rd party traffic via P&O shipping line and Tesco train service

  • Maintain correct procedure for office administration and filing functions to meet company requirements.

  • Communicate with drivers and operatives on a daily basis to ensure the efficient operational function

  • Recognise correct information upon receiving release/clearance documents in order to provide accurate support to operational functions

  • Complete tasks within required timescales in order to meet the service level expected by the customer

  • Uploading Vessel and Rail Manifests

  • Damage assessment of import/export Cargo

 

What are we looking for?

We’re seeking a reliable and proactive individual with a strong eye for detail and excellent organisational skills to help manage cargo movements at Tilbury2. While a driving licence is not essential, you must have access to reliable transport to meet shift schedules, which may include early and late rotations. A flexible approach to work is essential, as paid weekend overtime is a required part of the role.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Use of VBS/IPOS5 and systems for handling unitised and 3rd Party Cargo

  • Good telephone manner

  • Understanding of shipping and Rail documents

  • Proficient Microsoft Office experience

  • Full right to work in the UK

  • Driving licence is preferred
