Night Porter (Part-time)

Malone Hotel, based in Belfast, have an opportunity for a Night Porter (16 hours per week). As Night Porter, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a secure and welcoming environment for our guests and visitors overnight. With a people-first approach, you will provide exceptional service and maintain a positive first impression.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cultivate a welcoming and helpful environment for all guests and staff, addressing reasonable guest requests promptly and professionally, demonstrating a people-first approach.

  • Proactively anticipate guest needs whenever possible and respond effectively to enhance their satisfaction, showcasing your expertise in guest service.

  • Efficiently manage guest check-in and check-out processes using the PMS system, ensuring a smooth and positive experience.

  • Provide timely and efficient morning call services as required, demonstrating your expertise in meeting guest requests.

  • Serve drinks and light refreshments during the night, adhering to guest preferences and demonstrating expertise in service delivery.

  • Maintain the highest standards of integrity by ensuring accurate charging of all revenue and secure handling of all monies and keys at all times.

  • Ensure all necessary documentation, including checks and bills, is completed accurately and per hotel and company standards, demonstrating expertise and upholding integrity.

  • Maintain a safe and secure environment by ensuring corridors are clear, fire extinguishers are accessible, and fire doors are secure, promptly reporting any concerns to the Duty Manager or Senior Manager.

  • Conduct a minimum of three floor safety checks during each night shift, meticulously logging and immediately reporting any incidents, accidents, or injuries to the Duty Manager, demonstrating your commitment to integrity and safety expertise.

  • Prepare conference and board rooms according to function sheets and company and hotel brand standards, demonstrating expertise in event setup and presentation.

  • Maintain departmental cleanliness according to company and legal standards, showcasing your expertise in operational hygiene and integrity in adhering to regulations.

  • Adhere to all Alcohol Licensing Laws applicable, demonstrating expertise and upholding legal integrity.

  • Actively participate in required Health & Safety, Fire Safety, and Food Safety training as directed by your Line Manager, enhancing your expertise and commitment to integrity.

  • Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment, working effectively with colleagues to ensure seamless operations and guest satisfaction.

  • Demonstrate a willingness to take on additional responsibilities as needed, contributing to the overall success of the team and demonstrating your commitment to partnership.

  • Complete any other reasonable tasks as requested by your Line Manager.
