Overview
Odyssey Social Care are looking for an energetic Deputy Manager to join their residential care team based in Co. Roscommon. In your role you will act as the support and care worker to young people in the house, driving towards positive changes every single day.
The Deputy Manager will assist in providing services aimed at meeting the needs of children and young people in the care of Odyssey Social Care. This role involves supporting the Social Care Manager in all aspects of the house's operations and managing the house in the Manager’s absence. The Deputy Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the success of Odyssey Social Care by working closely with the Social Care Manager to address all issues within the house.

What you bring:
Minimum Level 7 qualification in Social Care or a relevant related qualification that meets the criteria to be registered as a Social Care Worker with CORU.
Relevant alternative qualifications include:
Level 8 in Psychology
Level 7 in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy, Counselling/Psychotherapy, Addiction Counselling, Youth and Community Work, Social Sciences/Social Studies, Family Support, Disability Studies, Applied Behavioural Analysis, Early Years Care (for U12 centers), BA Applied Policing, Higher Certificate in Custodial Care, Teaching, and Nursing.
A full, clean, manual driving license, valid in Ireland.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Knowledge of the key elements of effective team working
Knowledge of the Irish National Standards in Children’s Residential Centres
Essential Experience:
Minimum 3 years experience of working at social care grade with children/young persons.

Required criteria
- A minimum Level 7 qualification in Social Care or a relevant and related field.*
- A full, clean manual driving license valid in Ireland.
- Challenging Behaviour: Experience working with teenagers with challenging behavior.
- Therapeutic Crisis Intervention: Experience working in services where Therapeutic Crisis Intervention is used.
- Social Care: A minimum of 3 years’ experience working at a social care grade with children/young persons.
