 Northstone Materials Limited is seeking applications for the position of a Payroll Administrator on a 2 year fixed term contract based at our Coleraine offices.

About the role

Key Responsibilities:

 •          End-to-End Payroll Processing

-        Prepare and process weekly, and monthly payroll for employees in both NI and ROI

-        Manage starters, leavers, and changes (tax codes, benefits, deductions)

-        Manage Benefit-in-Kind calculations

 

•          Compliance & Reporting

-        Ensure adherence to HMRC (UK) and Revenue Commissioners (Ireland) Regulations

-        Complete statutory returns (PAYE, NIC, PRSI, USC, pensions)

-        Handle year-end processes (P60, P45, P11D, etc.)

-        Prepare statutory returns and year-end submissions

 

•          Systems & Data Management

-        Maintain accurate employee records in payroll systems (e.g., Coins Resource link)

-        Support audits and data integrity checks

 

•          Employee Support

-        Respond to payroll queries promptly and professionally.

 

•          Cross-Border Knowledge

-        Apply knowledge of differing tax, social security, and employment legislation in NI and ROI.

 

 

 

 

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

 

•                  Minimum 4–5years payroll experience, including exposure to both NI and ROI payroll legislation

•                  IPASS qualification or equivalent desirable

•                  Strong knowledge of HMRC and Revenue compliance requirements

•                  Proficiency in payroll software (Coins Resource Link) and MS Excel

•                  Excellent attention to detail and confidentiality

•                  Adaptability and problem-solving in a fast-paced environment

 

Desirable:

·          Experience in multi-site or high-volume payroll

·          Knowledge of pensions administration and Benefit-in-Kind calculations

·          Proven track record in accuracy, attention to detail and time management

·          Excellent communication and customer service skills

·          Strong problem-solving and prioritisation ability

·          Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
