Job Title:                    Lifeguard

 

Reports to:                 Leisure Manager

 

Role:   As part of a team to assist in the safe and effective operation of the leisure/pool complex.

Main Tasks:

1.               Continuous observation of swimmers and spectators

2.               Check plant and carry out pool water tests four times daily if required

3.               Frequent checking of all areas, and action as necessary to maintain hygiene, cleanliness, safety and standards of presentation.

4.               Undergo/deliver training as required

5.               Administer first aid treatment and record any accident or incident

6.               Check and record passes of all swimmers and spectators to ensure they are bonafide members

7.               Issue locker keys where applicable

8.               Organisation of leisure activities, entertainment and instruction as required

9.               Retail and replenish any sun bed tokens or drinks/dispensers

10.            Always behave in a polite and courteous manner so as to be an ambassador for the company

11.            To be aware and apply the provisions of the employee handbook

12.            Personal appearance at all times to be in accordance with company standards

13.            To have an understanding and awareness of all products and facilities offered by the company

14.            Understand and comply with health & safety requirements applicable to your role

15.            To be aware of and apply the provisions of the standard operational procedures for your department

16.            Comply promptly with personnel and payroll procedures

About the role

Key results/responsibilities

 

1.               Maintenance of pool safety

2.               Maintenance of water quality

3.               To monitor and record both the pool bather and spectator numbers in order not to exceed the maximum permitted numbers

4.               Monitor the behaviour of all swimmers and spectators and ensure that all pool rules are maintained and adhered to

5.               To ensure cleanliness of all areas and ensure that any complaints are passed to your supervisor immediately

6.               Identify opportunities to improve the standards of both service and presentation of the park

7.               To ensure the highest possible standard of customer care

8.               To ensure that any complaints are dealt with immediately

9.               Not to bring the company into disrepute

10.            To be dressed and presented appropriately to your role at all times

11.            To deal effectively with customer enquiries as to products and services

12.            To act at all times in accordance with company procedures and standards

13.            To carry out your duties in a manner that ensures the safest environment for colleagues and guests alike

14.            To ensure the appropriate training and development of individuals and teams
