Interim Management Accountant
Reporting to the Financial Controller the management accountant is responsible for assisting with the management of all aspects of the stock management system. An ability to take on ad hoc projects and liaise with other members of the finance team on the achievement of improved targets.
About the role
Main tasks and duties:
Assist in the management of the stock systems and recommendations for and implementation of improvement in the same
Assist with the maintenance of the Bills of Material including setting up new product codes where necessary
Liaise with the Production function regarding stock count variances, taking a lead role in improvement projects
Perform periodic raw material stock audits and material management procedures reviews
Preparation of monthly overhead reports, liaising with relevant department managers and provision of financial analysis to support decision making
Month end journal calculation and processing
Monthly balance sheet reconciliation
Financial analysis and recommendations on an ad hoc basis as required.

Ensure communications are maintained at the highest possible level between management and the workforce and keep your manager advised of impending situations which could develop into more serious problems;
Develop mutual respect with employees, by ensuring that all dealings are objective and impartial.
Health & Safety
Through good housekeeping procedures ensure that a safe and clean working environment is kept at all times.
Administration
Ensure that all reports, studies etc. required are accurate, submitted on time and to the required standard.
General
Ensure compliance with the company's Equal Opportunity Policy;

What you will need
Required criteria
- Membership of a recognised accountancy body or currently working towards a recognised accountancy qualification
- At least 2 years recent & relevant broad based Accountancy experience.
- Advanced working knowledge of windows based software including Microsoft Excel
- Experience of ad hoc projects
- Excellent written and oral communication, time management & organisational skills
- Attention to detail
- Highly analytical
- Can use initiative & work to strict deadlines
- Work with minimum supervision
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Reliable & conscientious
Desired criteria
- An honours degree in Business Studies or Accountancy or similar Post Graduate Qualification
- GCSE’s or equivalent at Grade B or above in Mathematics & English
- Demonstrate experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience of Microsoft Dynamics or Power Bi
