Catlebridge Manor Nursing Home is part of the Evergreen Care Group, dedicated to providing person-centred, high-quality care to our residents in a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment. Alongside our nursing home, we are proud to manage a vibrant retirement village, offering independent living with the reassurance of support on hand when needed.

We are now seeking an experienced and compassionate Person in Charge (PIC). This is a pivotal leadership role, combining strong clinical oversight with people-focused management and operational excellence. As Person in Charge you will provide leadership and support to our care and nursing staff whilst maintaining the highest quality of individualised person-centered care for our residents.

The successful candidate will ensure a best practice approach to all aspects of clinical leadership ensuring that the Nursing Home and Retirement Village are well managed and the needs are the residents are provided for.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in building and maintaining relationships and strong communication skills at all levels, the ability to foster excellent teamwork, have demonstrated leadership characteristics and have and good knowledge of HIQA standards. The successful candidate will have direct management experience in a similar role.

About the role

As Person in Charge, you will:

  • Provide overall leadership and governance of the nursing homee, ensuring residents experience the highest standards of clinical and personal care.

  • Always represent the nursing home as the senior manager and act in the best interest of the nursing home and its residents and the wider Evergreen Care group

  • Manage the extension registration of the nursing home and ensure compliance with all HIQA and statutory requirements.

  • Build and sustain a culture where residents are treated with dignity, respect, and compassion, and where staff feel supported, empowered, and valued.

  • Lead a dedicated multi-disciplinary team, ensuring effective workforce planning, supervision, and ongoing staff development.

  • Oversee all aspects of operational management, including clinical governance, occupancy levels, budgets, health & safety, and regulatory reporting.

  • Ensure seamless communication and collaboration with residents, families, staff, and external stakeholders.

  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation in care delivery across both the nursing home and retirement village.

  • Professional Registration

    • Must be a Registered Nurse with active registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).

    • Minimum of 3 years' post-registration experience in care of the older person.

    • At least 3 years in a nursing management role, preferably within a nursing home or similar long-term care setting.

    Education

    • Hold a minimum Level 8 qualification (Ordinary Bachelor's Degree or higher) in Nursing.

    • A postgraduate qualification in Nursing Management, Gerontology, Healthcare Leadership, or Healthcare Management is strongly preferred.

What you will need

Required criteria

  • Minimum 3 years’ post qualification experience
  • Post registration management qualification in health or a related field
  • Excellent knowledge of HIQA standards
