Modular Building Estimating and Design Technician

Wernick Modular Hire are seeking a Modular Building Estimating and Design Technician. The ideal candidate will be driven, enthusiastic and have high levels of organisational ability. The role can be based at any of our 28 depots throughout the country. This is a permanent, office based post offering a competitive salary, personal pension plan and industry competitive holidays and benefits.
This position will require someone with the ability to carry out all aspects of estimating and design. The ideal candidate will have experience in AutoCad and Revit, be numerate, have good interpersonal skills and be willing to learn new skills.

Job responsibilities
Estimating
Price Design & Build tenders from first principles by measurement and application of unit rates.
Obtain Sub-Contractor quotations for key work packages, undertake a comprehensive review of quotations received and incorporate the most commercially suitable quotation within the tender
Designing and drawing layouts, foundation plans and elevations for modular projects
Learning technical information relative to refurbished modular buildings
Assisting with allocated fresh enquiries
Assisting with allocated on-going projects, basic design changes and basic revisions
Assisting sales, factory production, project control, site managers and the client as necessary or as directed
Helping to ensure that we have up to date drawings and pricing information for sales quotation and working drawings and information relative to project control for existing / ongoing projects
The aim of this newly created post is to help speed up estimating and design turnaround times back to sales and help with buying on key price tag items – electrics, plumbing , specials and groundworks.
We are looking for the candidate to support the growth of the Modular Hire business.
Key Skills & attributes:
To succeed in this role, you will need to be creative and have a good technical brain. You will be able to work well under pressure in an extremely busy office and take direction from senior managers.
The ability to learn is key to this vacancy and to grow into the role as the company expands.
You will need good timekeeping, fantastic customer service skills and a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.
