Learning & Development Manager
Working with a committed and passionate team, the Learning & Development Manager will support training, learning, and talent operations across the Hastings Hotel group, aiding us in providing an outstanding Employee Experience that aligns with our vision: to be recognized as a prestigious family company, delivering the finest in Irish hospitality with style and excellence.
Reporting to Rob Rees, Group Head of People & Culture, you will support the design, curation and delivery of operational learning, known as Route 1066, and our development programmes. Additionally, you will lead some of our talent programs for supervisors and management talent, unlocking the full potential of our Learning Management System (LMS), Flow.
About the role
Responsibilities
Learning Curation and Delivery:
Drive the full cycle of development, delivery, and evaluation of blended learning projects, specifically focusing on the completion of LNAs (Learning Needs Analysis), Facilitation, and Evaluation.
Manage the creation and procurement of digital native content accessed via our learning management system.
Collaborate with in-house operational experts and internal stakeholders to identify areas where further development training can be provided. Additionally, engage with external stakeholders to stay updated on industry trends and innovations.
Support operational teams in achieving compliance with external and internal training, policies, and procedures to ensure the safety of our teams. This includes managing our compliance learning calendar.
Project Management:
Project manage key learning projects through the entire project life cycle, including engaging with key stakeholders both internally and externally.
Collate and evaluate colleague feedback along with data gathered from other sources e.g LMS and identify successes and areas for improvement.
Supporting the People & Culture Team with planning and execution of our business plan
Internal Communication:
Support participation and engagement with learning within our group through internal communication channels.
Talent Management:
Assist the People & Culture team with talent identification and planning.

Reserve Lists
We use reserve lists for positions where more than one candidate is deemed suitable for a position. Reserve lists are in place for 12 months during which reserve candidates will be offered the same or similar post should one become available during this time.
What you will need
Required criteria
- A ‘can do attitude’ and passion for Learning, both Operational and Management development
- A proven track record as a Learning and Development Professional with knowledge and experience in implementing organisational learning initiatives
- Ability to demonstrate previous Evidence-Based practice with strong data skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to manage and influence stakeholders at different levels
- High level of digital design and curation skills, including Microsoft 365, SCORM, Articulate, and Canva
- Excellent professional facilitation skills for workshops of all sizes
- Professional membership (Associate or above) in the CIPD
Desired criteria
- Articulate 360 & InDesign Trained
- Third-level education in Hospitality, L&D, HR, or another related subject
- Experience in hospitality
- Project Management Qualification
- Qualified coach
